FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...

WHO ARE YOU?

I was trained as a graphic designer and had a rich living and working history in music video, art direction, commercials and motherhood. I took to ceramic recently, inspired by the work of 20th century studio potters, masters such as Lucie Rie, Beatrice Wood and Rosanjin-Kitaoji as well as vernacular folk pottery from Mexico and early America. I live in Brooklyn with my daughter, Anna.

MOST THINGS ARE SOLD! HOW CAN I BE UPDATED WHEN THE SHOP RESTOCKS?

Since my one of a kind items sell out quickly, the best way to know about future sales is to join our MAILING LIST. We send infrequent mail and will not share your information.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU RESTOCK?

I restock when I have enough good pieces and send an email announcing when a sale will begin. Studio pottery is very unpredictable. Opening a kiln is always a surprise. I will only sell what I think is very successful in terms of shape, color and design.

PORCELAIN/STONEWARE/TERRACOTTA/GLAZES/FOOD SAFETY

This is studio pottery, formed and glazed by hand and there will be imperfections. These are intentional and are part of the character of the individual piece. All of my tabletop pieces are glazed with lead free, food-safe glazes. Some work is for decorative use only, not for food. These pieces are called "decorative" pieces and a description is given on why it is not recommended for food.

RECOMMENDED CARE

All of my stoneware and porcelain ceramics are dishwasher safe, unless otherwise noted. Where there is highly textured glaze I would recommend taking a fine brush and brushing those areas to make sure no food is left behind. I do not recommend putting the terracotta pieces in the dishwasher. Terracotta should be hand washed. Unglazed areas of terracotta clay will retain moisture so it is best to make sure they are thoroughly dried before setting on wooden furniture.

DO YOU SELL WHOLESALE?

At this time I have committed to two stockists carrying select pieces. Iko Iko in Los Angeles and Beautiful Dreamers in Brooklyn. I am not able to produce enough to have other wholesale accounts for the moment.

DO YOU TAKE COMMISSIONS?

I feel like trying new ideas all the time, and remaking something I have made before doesn't seem to feel right to me, for now. The kilns are so unpredictable that I can never guarantee the outcome!

WHO DESIGNED YOUR WEB SITE?

Kim Osborne, an amazing designer took some basic ideas of mine and made them more gorgeous that I ever imagined. She also designed a stunning website for my ceramic comrade and studio mate Michele Michael.
